Beneficial plant based foods to protect against heart disease

There are many BENEFICIAL plant foods to include in your diet which appear to be especially protective against heart disease, especially those high in nitrates, antioxidants, fiber, and potassium.

These foods include:

  • Beans, including soy beans
  • Berries
  • Ceylon cinnamon
  • Cherries
  • Citrus
  • Cocoa
  • Coffee
  • Dark chocolate
  • Dried apples
  • Flax seeds
  • Leafy Greens such as kale, arugula, spinach
  • Nuts
  • Oatmeal
  • Pomegranates
  • Papaya
  • Spices such as turmeric
  • Tea, especially hibiscus and green tea
  • Tomatoes
